The Simple Logic Behind Making Money in Penny Stocks

making money in penny stocks

Many traders know the stories about making money in penny stocks. The logic is obvious to even the beginning investor. If you buy shares worth twenty cents each and those shares experience just a twenty cent bump in value, then your investment in those stocks has doubled in size. That could be a serious profit if you bought enough shares at the outset.

If it were that simple, everybody would be a penny stock trader. However, making money in penny stocks can be hard work, especially if you do not know how to determine if the stock at which you are looking is any good. That is why everyone breaking into the penny stock experience should follow a few, simple guidelines about finding those stocks that will bring fabulous returns on your investment.

A Few Steps to Making Money in Penny Stocks

•             Protect yourself. Do not go into the penny stock arena like a gambler in some movie and risk it all on one bet. Just like other traders do, you should invest some of your money conservatively. It is up to you to determine exactly how much money you will use to buy penny stocks.

•             Get experience with safer stocks. You should not try making money in penny stocks until you have learned how to invest in mid-cap and large-cap stocks first. The minimum amount of experience should be one year but it would be wiser to acquire even more experience before entering into the much riskier environment of penny stocks.

•             Go into it with your eyes open. Many of these stocks are valued so lowly for a reason. Penny stocks can disappear and take all your investment with them. They can also linger in the investment basement and waste your time and effort. Making money in penny stocks will take all your intelligence and a lot of hard work.
